By binding different PIN codes to your Passphrase (hidden wallet), you can directly use that specific PIN code to unlock and enter the corresponding hidden wallet. This feature eliminates the tedious steps of manually entering complex Passphrase every time you switch to a hidden wallet, greatly improving the convenience of daily use.
Firmware version requirements
If you are using UKey Core 26 Hardware Wallet, please ensure that the device Firmware has been upgraded to version 1.15.0 and above.
How to set a binding PIN on UKey Core 26
Please have your UKey Core 26 hardware wallet ready and follow these steps:
On the hardware wallet screen, click Settings > Wallet > Passphrase.
In the "Advanced Settings" area at the bottom of the page, select "Bind PIN Code".
Complete verification and binding according to the device's on-screen prompts:
Enter your hardware wallet's current Master PIN to verify identity.
Set and enter twice New PIN, then enter the Passphrase.
Binding is complete. When you use the device later, you only need to enter this new PIN code directly on the unlock interface to directly enter the corresponding hidden wallet.
Important safety and precautions
Core security protection: The device's master power-on PIN remains the device's core security barrier. The newly bound PIN code is only used to quickly unlock its corresponding specific hidden wallet.
Anti-brute-force cracking mechanism: To protect the security of your assets, UKey hardware wallet has input error restrictions. After entering the incorrect PIN 5 times in a row, the device will automatically reset and wipe all data. Please check carefully when entering.
Keep it safe: Be sure to keep your master PIN, newly bound PINs, and corresponding Passphrase in a secure offline environment.
What to do if you forget your PIN code:UKey Officially unable to retrieve or reset your PIN. Once you forget your device's PIN, the only solution is to reset the hardware wallet by deliberately entering it incorrectly 5 times. Then use the mnemonic phrase (and Passphrase) you backed up in advance to restore the wallet assets.
