Written by UKey Wallet

This document aims to explain how to quickly determine the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication status of the device through the on-screen instructions of the UKey hardware wallet. The indication logic will differ depending on the current BLE firmware version of the device. Please refer to the following instructions according to your specific version.

1. Devices with BLE firmware version ≥ 1.1.0

In this firmware version and above UKey hardware devices, the system will visually display the real-time running status of Bluetooth in the screen status bar. The icons correspond to the following three working modes:

  • Broadcasting: The Bluetooth module is activated and open to broadcast. At this time, the external mobile device can discover the UKey hardware wallet by scanning and initiate a pairing connection.

  • Stop broadcast status (Disabled/Hidden): The Bluetooth module is turned off or invisible. At this time, external devices cannot search for the hardware wallet through scanning.

  • ConnectedStatus (Connected): UKey hardware wallet has successfully established Bluetooth encrypted communication with the mobile device (such as mobile app).

Standard way to disconnect from Connected state:If you need to interrupt the current Bluetooth connection, the user can do it through one of the following three operations:

  1. Simply press and hold the power button to turn off the UKey hardware device.

  2. Enter the [Settings] menu of the UKey hardware device and manually turn off the Bluetooth function.

  3. In Connected's mobile device (mobile phone/tablet) system Settings, actively turn off the Bluetooth function.
