UKey Core Guide
To improve the convenience of daily on-chain interactions, UKey Core 26 hardware wallet supports fingerprint recognition as an alternative to PIN code unlocking. By correctly configuring the fingerprint, You can access devices and complete authorization faster.
This article will give you details on how to add new fingerprints and delete existing fingerprints on UKey Core 26.
Add fingerprint
Follow these steps to enter your fingerprint to quickly unlock your device:
Wake the device and enter your PIN to unlock UKey Core 26.
Swipe up on the home screen to expand and enter the apps menu.
Click to enter "Settings" > "Security and privacy" > "Fingerprint".
You will be asked to verify your identity, please enter your UKey Core 26 PIN again.
After passing the verification, click "Add Fingerprint" to start the entry.
Following the on-screen instructions, place your finger on your device's power button (i.e., fingerprint sensor). Lift and press repeatedly to try using different edges of your fingers to type in all directions.
When the screen displays "Fingerprint Added", it means that your fingerprint has been successfully registered and you can use this fingerprint to unlock the device.
Delete fingerprint
If you need to remove the entered fingerprint information, please follow the steps below:
Wake your device and enter your PIN (or use your registered fingerprint) to unlock UKey Core 26.
Swipe up on the home screen to expand and enter the apps menu.
Click to enter "Settings" > "Security and privacy" > "Fingerprint".
Verify your device PIN code and enter the fingerprint management list.
Find and click the name of the fingerprint you wish to delete in the list (for example: Fingerprint 1).
Click the Remove button at the bottom of the screen.
The system will pop up a secondary confirmation prompt of "Remove this fingerprint". Click "Remove" again to permanently delete the fingerprint record.
Safety precautions
The PIN is the core credential: Fingerprint recognition is only used as a convenient solution for daily unlocking. Your PIN code is still the core security credential of the device. When doing fingerprint management (adding or deleting) and settings involving core security, You will still be asked to enter your PIN for mandatory verification, so be sure to remember your PIN.
Privacy protection: For asset security reasons, please ensure that only your own fingerprint information is entered into the device.
