Hardware Wallet Troubleshooting FAQs
Battery Specifications and Characteristics
UKey Core 26 The hardware wallet uses Lithium-ion polymer battery (Li-ion Polymer).
This is a mature battery type that is widely used in consumer electronics devices. It has a high energy density and can keep UKey devices thin, light and portable. Provide stable and reliable power support. The voltage characteristics of the battery are highly matched to the operating voltage of the electronic system, which helps improve the overall stability and safety of the device.
Battery life and performance
UKey Hardware wallets are low-power devices, and the frequency of charging and discharging in daily operations is usually low. Regarding battery life and performance, please refer to the following instructions:
cycle life: Under standard test conditions, the charge and discharge cycle life of UKey Core 26 is ≥ 500 times (that is, after 500 cycles, the remaining battery capacity can still be maintained at ≥ 80%).
normal physical wear and tear: As the device is used over time and the number of cycles increases, the single battery life will gradually shorten, manifesting as a gradual decrease in capacity. This is a normal physical degradation characteristic of lithium-ion batteries and is not an equipment malfunction.
USB Power supply support: Even in extreme situations (such as the capacity of the battery being significantly reduced due to long-term aging or even being unable to provide independent power supply), you can still power the device through the USB cable and turn it on normally. Smoothly complete key operations such as asset viewing, signature or transfer.
Standby performance: Under normal conditions, if the device is fully charged and completely powered off, it can still be turned on normally after being idle for about 7 months. The actual standby time may vary depending on the storage environment temperature, frequency of use and battery self-discharge characteristics.
Daily use and storage suggestions
In order to slow down the aging of the battery and extend the overall service life of the UKey hardware wallet, we recommend that you follow the following precautions during daily use and storage:
Avoid extreme environments: Do not expose the device to high temperature environments (such as in a car under direct sunlight) or extreme cold environments for a long time.
Recommended battery storage: If the device needs to be stored for a long time and not used, it is recommended to keep the battery power at 40% – 60% between. Please avoid leaving your device idle for long periods of time in a fully charged (100%) or completely depleted (0%) state.
Storage conditions: When storing for a long time, please keep the device in a cool, dry and safe environment.
Compliance charging: Please be sure to use official charging cables and power supply equipment that comply with standard safety regulations for charging.
