The Bootloader is a critical low-level program that runs when your UKey hardware wallet starts. It is responsible for initializing the hardware environment and loading the main operating system and device firmware. This document provides instructions on how to properly enter and exit this mode, as well as standard troubleshooting procedures for unresponsive devices.
I. Entering Bootloader Mode
Applicable Device Model: UKey Core 26
Standard Procedure: On the device's main interface, navigate to [Settings] -> [About Device] -> [System Update] -> [Reboot].
After executing this command, the device will automatically restart and enter the underlying Bootloader mode.
II. Exiting Bootloader Mode & Troubleshooting
If you need to exit Bootloader mode, or if your device becomes unresponsive (stuck on the Bootloader screen), please follow these troubleshooting and recovery steps in order:
1. Standard Reboot
Instructions: Press and hold the Power button on the hardware wallet until the device powers off completely. Then, press and hold the Power button again to turn it back on. Under normal circumstances, the device will reload the main operating system and exit Bootloader mode.
2. Battery Drain Restart (For Unresponsive Buttons)
Instructions: If the device does not respond to long-pressing the power button, please stop interacting with it and leave it powered on. Wait for the battery to drain completely until the device automatically shuts down. Afterward, connect it to a power source, allow it to charge, and attempt to power it on again.
3. Firmware Reinstallation (For Corrupted Firmware)
Analysis: If the device remains stuck in Bootloader mode even after draining the battery and recharging, it is typically caused by network fluctuations or physical connection interruptions during a previous firmware update, resulting in an incomplete firmware installation.
Instructions: You will need to reinstall the firmware via the client application. For detailed instructions, please refer to the official UKey Hardware Wallet Firmware Upgrade Guide.
Core Security Notice: Before reinstalling the firmware, you must ensure that you have securely backed up your seed phrase (Secret Recovery Phrase). Resetting or reinstalling the firmware may erase local data. Without a valid seed phrase backup, you will be permanently unable to recover your digital assets.
III. Official Technical Support
If the device still cannot boot normally or exit Bootloader mode after completing all the above troubleshooting steps, please contact the UKey official technical support team. Please submit a support ticket through the official website's support center, including your device's serial number and a detailed description of the malfunction. Our engineers will provide further hardware diagnostic services.
