Bootloader is the underlying boot program that runs when UKey hardware wallet starts. It is mainly responsible for initializing the hardware environment and loading the main operating system and device firmware. This document aims to explain how to correctly enter and exit this mode, as well as the standard processing procedures for dealing with device stuck exceptions.

1. Enter Bootloader mode

Applicable device model: UKey Core 26

  • Standard operating path: Click in sequence on the main interface of the device【Settings】 -> 【About equipment】 -> 【System update】 -> 【Restart】

  • After executing this command, the device will automatically restart and enter the Bootloader low-level boot mode.

2. Exit Bootloader mode and troubleshoot abnormalities

When you need to exit the bootloader mode, or encounter an unresponsive device interface (stuck in the bootloader interface), please perform troubleshooting and restore operations at the following levels:

1. Regular restart

  • Operating Instructions: Long press hardware walletpower buttonWait until the device is completely shut down; then press and hold the power button again to turn it on. Under most normal circumstances, the device will reload the main system and exit bootloader mode.

  • Operating Instructions: If the device does not respond after long pressing the power button, please stop operating and keep the device turned on, waiting for its battery to drain naturally and shut down automatically. Then connect the power source to charge and try to turn it on again.

3. firmware reinstallation (to deal with system firmware damage)

  • Cause analysis: If the device still stays in Bootloader mode after the battery is exhausted and recharged, it is usually due to network fluctuations or physical connection interruptions during the previous firmware update process, resulting in incomplete firmware data package installation.

  • Operating Instructions: The firmware installation process needs to be re-executed through the client. For specific operations, please refer to the official "UKey hardware walletfirmware Upgrade Tutorial".

  • Core safety tips: Before performing firmware reinstallation,Please make sure you have properly secured your wallet. Resetting or reinstalling firmware may clear local data. Without seed phrasebackup, you will not be able to restore assets.
